HomePulse is run by Matt Langellotti. This page explains what we collect, why, who sees it, and how to delete it. The short version: we use your information to run HomePulse for you, we don't sell it, and your contractor sees only what you choose to send them.
What we collect
- Your account: your name, email address and password (stored scrambled, never readable).
- Your homes: each home's name, address and time zone.
- Your equipment: types, brands, model and serial numbers, install dates, warranty dates and similar details you or your contractor enter.
- Your logs: symptoms, maintenance, notes, and photos you add. We strip location data and other hidden details from photos when you upload them.
- People you invite: the names and emails of household members, tenants and guests you invite, and lease or checkout dates you set.
- Your contractor's details: the contractor card you or your contractor fill in.
- Basic security records: sign-ins, changes and the internet address they came from, so we can protect your account and look into problems.
How we use it
- To run HomePulse: show your homes, keep your history, work out your home's health score, and send your monthly checklist and reminders.
- To send emails you ask for or expect: confirming your email, password resets, invites, alerts when someone in your household reports a problem, and reports you send to your contractor.
- To keep the service secure and working.
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who sees it
- People you share with. Household members, tenants and guests see what their access level allows. Tenants and guests only ever see the one home you invited them to.
- Your contractor, only when you send something. When you tap Send, your contractor gets the problems you picked, the related equipment details, your note, and any phone number you add, plus a private link to the photos that expires after 30 days. They can't see anything else.
- If your contractor set up HomePulse for you, they entered your home and equipment to start. Once you accept, they no longer have access.
- Companies that help us run the service, only as needed to do that: our hosting provider (Replit), photo storage (Cloudflare), and email delivery (Resend). They're not allowed to use your information for anything else.
- The law. We'd share information if legally required to, and we'd tell you unless we're not allowed to.
Emails
The monthly checklist and reminder emails have a one-tap "stop these emails" link, and you can turn them on or off in your account. Emails about your account (password resets, for example) still come through.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your information while your account is open. You can delete your account any time from Your account. If you're the only person with full access to a household, its homes are deleted with all their equipment, logs and photos. If someone else also has full access (a spouse, for example), the homes stay with them. Your name and email are removed. We keep basic security records, without your details attached, for our own records.
Security
We use encrypted connections, scrambled passwords, private photo storage that's only reachable through HomePulse's permission checks, and limits on repeated sign-in attempts. No service is perfectly secure, so use a strong password you don't use elsewhere.
Children
HomePulse is for adults managing homes. It isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll let you know by email or in the app before the change takes effect.
